ABOUT
Jonathan Schmalfeld (AKA The NFTtorney; AKA BirdnalsLaw) is from St. Louis, and is a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan. He obtained his undergraduate degrees in English and Political Science from the University of Missouri (go Tigers) and graduated cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2015.
Jonathan started his career at an AMLaw100 firm based out of St. Louis, where he was on intellectual property and complex commercial litigation teams across the country, including a two-month trade secret jury trial to verdict in the Northern District of California.
He joined his current firm, Polsinelli, in 2022 to work in Web3 and Web3 adjacent tech transactions and data privacy matters and to otherwise help clients navigate the intersect between code is law and law is law. When Jonathan is not in the office or court, he is usually busy expanding his NFT collection, enjoying the local St. Louis food and beer scene, or watching one of his many sports teams disappoint him with mediocrity.
